Hello,
I hope everyone is looking forward to our 10 year reunion this weekend. It has been a long time coming, and I am glad that after so much coordinating, emailing, and planning we are finally ready to mark this weekend off of the calendar! Thank you so much to all of you who helped make this happen, with very special thanks going out to Wendy (Jester) Clasen and Rori (Abbott) Bryan.
I wanted to send out a quick update (and a final email...I promise), because we have had to make some changes to our dinner plans on Saturday night. Nothing has changed with regard to the Friday or Sunday events. However, Saturday will be different. Here's what happened:
Things have been a little bit stressful for me lately, as I've had to figure out how to not be sued by our vendors. As of tonight, I have only received payment from 1/3 of those registered to attend the Saturday dinner. This has created a pretty big problem because we had deposits and final payments due for renting out the room at the Holiday Inn, for a DJ, and for our caterer. With a projected cost of at least $5000, I haven't received enough money to cover even half of our expenses. Fortunately, I was able to work things with our vendors, but I had to make a decision to change plans for Saturday night.
Here is the new plan:
Instead of the dinner and dancing at the Holiday Inn, we will now be having an evening dinner on the patio at the Camp Robber restaurant. For those of you who have already paid (thank you for doing so, by the way), I have not cashed your checks, and I will return your check to you. The Camp Robber has agreed to do individual checks for each person/couple. You will only pay for what you order...nothing more. Social hour will begin at 5:30pm on Saturday and people can order dinner at around 6:30pm. Attire will be more casual than planned. Business casual attire is suggested. Business casual: Men can wear slacks and a dress shirt (with or without a tie), and women may wear pants or a casual dress.
Although I'm disappointed that we had to make a last minute change, I think that this solution will create a much more relaxed evening, and I won't be walking around all night begging for money!
Just to review, here is the FINALIZED ITINERARY for the reunion weekend:
Friday Night
7:00pm: Montrose High School Football Game vs. Glenwood Springs
Following the game: After party at "Belly"
Saturday Night
5:30pm: Dinner at Camp Robber (with optional pub crawl afterward)
Sunday Afternoon
1:00 pm Family picnic at Riverbottom Park
See you in a few days,
Jon Keyser
